The school year is wrapping up, which means it's time for the Annual Talent Show where our 5th and 6th grade students can showcase their many and varied talents! Dust off those dance shoes and warm up your vocal cords as we prepare for a great event! Tryouts will be held Wednesday, May 22 after school from 4:15-6:00pm. There will be two shows on Tuesday, June 4 so that all students have a chance to watch and cheer on their friends. BIG Thanks for Helping Us SAVE LIVES!!
A huge THANK YOU is in order for all of those who helped us save lives by partnering with the American Heart Association to raise money through our Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart events! Our combined efforts raised a total of $3,624.65!!! Every dollar counts as we continue to fight against our nation's #1 and #3 killers - heart disease and stroke. Thank you for allowing your children to be "heart heroes" and make a difference in the lives of others.
Hoops for Heart / Jump Rope for Heart
Help us support the American Heart Association!! Our Hoops for Heart and Jump Rope for Heart fundraisers are now under way! Please consider donating to a Phoenix student to help Milstead reach our goal of $3,000!! Each student who raises $10 or more will be invited to the Heart Party on Friday, December 7 from 2:30p-3:45p in the gymnasium to celebrate their efforts. This is a great way to give back to the community and help save lives while having fun and staying healthy! Stay tuned in December for pictures from the big event.

Climbing Wall - New to Milstead!
Just in time for the new school year, Milstead is a proud recipient of a 10-foot climbing wall! The coaches have been trained and are ready to teach your students how to traverse the wall. We are so excited to incorporate the climbing wall into our curriculum as it promotes not only upper body strength, strong core muscles, flexibility and balance but also problem solving skills, awareness, trust and strategy.
Welcome Back!
Welcome, returning 6th graders and new 5th graders to Milstead! We are so very excited to begin another school year with a chance to start fresh and stay healthy throughout the year. We are happy to announce a new addition to the gym this year - our very own climbing wall! Physical Education letters have been sent home in Tuesday folders - please make sure you read through this packet and return the permission slip letting us know whether your student has permission to climb the wall.
