What is SNAP-Ed?

SNAP-Ed is a USDA funded nutrition education program. All sites that serve groups in which at least 50% of the population has an income at or below 185% of the federal poverty threshold are eligible to receive these materials for free.
ACTIVE Life proudly offers our very own SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education) approved curriculum, called ACTIVE Nutrition. If your site is eligible, you have the opportunity to partner with AL to deliver our nutrition curriculum to those who need it most at no cost to your site or participants. The resources you will receive include:
The ACTIVE Nutrition curriculum and training are available at no cost because the Texas Health and Human Services Commission selected our organization to receive a federal grant from the USDA. Eligible sites include service providers/community organizations in approved zip codes, Title 1 schools, and schools in which at least half of the students are eligible to receive free or reduced prices meals. Additionally, any site that can show that at least 50% of their participants have an income at or below 185% of the federal poverty threshold is eligible.
You have the power to help low-income households receive the nutrition education they need, and we are here to support you in your efforts. We at ACTIVE Life look forward to welcoming you to the SNAP-Ed community!
